Discussion 1:  The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Explain how HIPAA must disclose the protected health information of an infected patient with or exposed to COVID-19, when disclosure is needed to provide treatment, when notification is required by law, and when notifying public health to prevent the spread of disease. Discussion 2: Whether to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations and how to implement such a policy is ultimately a local institutional decision. What are the pros and cons of this decision?
