The need for global health funding has increased in recent years. Specifically, the spread of COVID-19 brought the global need for adequate public health financing to the forefront of global initiatives. Comparisons with other nationsÂ’ public health spending are challenging because each country has its own definition of public health, but categorical comparisons can still be made. However, the activities of health education represent a fairly narrow set of public health activities in a country (Committee on Public Health Strategies to Improve Health, 2012).
Research global health initiatives and develop an original response to these questions:
What is a current public health education initiative utilizing global health funding?
From whom and how are the funds obtained for the program? Discuss any restrictions related to the funding.
How do other countries’ governments prioritize global health issues and education initiatives compared to the United States government? Choose at least one country to compare with the United States in your discussion.
